Attenuator Volume Controls

Starting December 2008 we introduced our own branded replacement for the Noble volume and balance controls we have been using for over 20 years in various products from the OTO integrated amplifier to the M5/M6 pre-amplifiers, the new controls can be seen below, they both cost £ 20.00 plus UK Vat, which is currently 15%.
There is a real lack of good quality attenuators on the market, almost regardless of price and even less at a reasonable price, so there we are, we have made some ourselves.
These 100kOhm volume controls feature 23
steps with heavily silver plated copper contacts, it is a ladder type with
one the main load resistor and one other resistor in circuit on each step
using the best possible resistors, a 2 watt Audio Note™ tantalum for the main
load and a ½ watt AN tant for each step.
These attenuators are used in the M9Phono pre-amplifier and will be introduced
in the M10Line and ONGAKU.
In the first instance we have two versions available, both are 100kOhm, and are shown above.

Ko-On Volume controls
We are also re-introducing the 100K standard Ko-On volume control, as we have been given assurances that it will remain available for the foreseeable future, this control is the best available standard volume control we have been able to find, it is encapsulated, see picture below.
