Black Gate Production Has Ceased

Jelmax ceased production of all types of Black Gate in September 2007.

Please bear this fact in mind when reading product descriptions contained within this website. Many products are specified with Black Gates, however, since the cessation of Black Gate production we have been re-specifying some of our products to make use of suitable alternatives.

Level Two and Three products specified as using Black Gate will now use Elna Cerafine, Level Four products will use main Black Gate, but also Silmic in places where our stock of Black Gates is insufficient to last a minimum of 5 years worth of production. The very top level products are currently unaffected by the demise of Black Gate and we will continue to use them for another 6 – 8 years in these products, which should be adequate time to source a suitable alternative to maintain the overall voicing.

For the time being individual product descriptions will continue to reflect Black Gate. Given the size, scale and depth of the Audio Note product range, re-specifying each product to maintain its overall voice within the Level system is a sizeable task, and therefore the descriptions will only be updated when this has been completed.
